About this event

TRE is a gentle, body-led practice to release stress. You can read more about it here: https://hammock.earth/library/tre

What would change in your work and relationships if your nervous system had more capacity?

We often wish for the people we support, to stay present with uncertainty, discomfort, emotion and change. And sometimes we take it for granted as highly empathetic people that we have access to that presence always.

But sometimes we don't. When someone across from us is overwhelmed, afraid, shut down, defensive or simply doesn't know what comes next, our own nervous system is part of the relationship too.

Can we stay curious without rushing to fix?
Can we make room for discomfort without needing it to disappear?
Can we stay connected to ourselves while staying present with someone else?

This is one of the reasons I practice TRE® as a leadership coach.

TRE (Tension & Trauma Releasing Exercises) is a body-based practice that uses a sequence of gentle movements and exercises to invite the body's natural tremoring response.

Rather than giving you another technique to use on yourself or another person, TRE offers an opportunity to explore your own embodied capacity for sensation, uncertainty, activation, rest and presence and grow your capacity consistently.

This introductory group is an invitation to experience it for yourself.

We'll explore the foundations of TRE, experience the exercises and tremoring together, and learn how to notice and respond to what's happening in your own body.

You don't need to be a coach or therapist to attend. This practice is for all human beings. But if your work involves holding space for other people as a coach, therapist, facilitator, leader, practitioner or caregiver, you may find this particular lens especially relevant.

Less about fixing. More about capacity.
Less about knowing what to do. More about being present.

You may have experienced tremoring before, after a long cry, an intense work out, or a moment of shaking after something intense. The body has its own language for letting go and TRE is a simple pathway to access that wisdom in the safety of your home.

Every month, we do an online session where you’ll learn how to safely activate this natural tremor response and begin building a relationship with your body’s own way of regulating and restoring itself. And then you can drop in our regular weekly shake as well.

You're already amazing at listening, allowing, and trusting the people you support, now you can use this opportunity to do this for yourself.

In this session, we will:

  • Learn the foundations of TRE and how it supports the nervous system

  • Move through a series of gentle exercises to activate these internal vibration in your body

  • Practice sensing, tracking, and staying present with your body

  • Explore how to integrate this into your own life in a way that feels safe and supportive

You might experience:

  • A softening of tension

  • A sense of calm or grounding

  • More space in your body and mind

  • A deeper connection to yourself

No prior experience is needed. Just an internet connection and google meet. You'll need a relatively safe and quiet space where you can stand and stretch comfortably in your room as well as lay down on a yoga mat. You'd want blankets and two pillows or blocks to support your knees and some water nearby.
